Version 1.0 · 23 October 2026
In short: the site processes your IP address and request data only to deliver it, via Cloudflare.
The AI model behind the simulation runs on our own computer.
1. Who is responsible
Patric Bomio (bomio.ch, unregistered sole proprietorship), Viale A. Sartori 15, 6512 Giubiasco, Switzerland · contact@vai.gg.
We apply the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where it applies, the EU General Data
Protection Regulation (GDPR).
2. Scope
This policy covers www.ailokis.com.
3. Hosting and service providers
- Server: our own computer in Switzerland.
- Cloudflare, Inc. (USA) carries all traffic to the site through its network and an encrypted tunnel ("Cloudflare Tunnel"). Cloudflare therefore processes your IP address and request data on our behalf, in data centres worldwide, and keeps its own short-lived logs to operate and protect its network.
- Cloudflare is the only recipient of data from your visit.
4. What happens when you visit
Your browser sends your IP address, the requested address and technical details (such as browser type)
with every request. We need them to deliver the page.
Our web server keeps a technical log of requests for error analysis: time, method, requested address
(shortened), status, size, duration and Cloudflare's request ID. One exception: if our application
server is down, the web server's error log notes the visitor's IP address for the failed request. This is a rare event.
The logs are limited by size: each log holds at most about 30 MB, and the oldest part is
deleted automatically when that limit is reached.
To prevent overload, the server also counts requests per IP address. This count exists only in
working memory and disappears within minutes.
5. Cookies and local storage
Cloudflare may set a short-lived security cookie (__cf_bm or cf_clearance)
if its bot protection is active or it shows you a security check.
Your browser stores one setting in its local storage: ailokis.map.v1, whether you chose the globe
or the flat map view. It stays on your device and you can delete it in your browser settings.
6. AI-generated content
The simulation, including its in-world news, is generated by an AI model running on our own computer.
It is fiction about a simulated world that starts from real data. AI-generated text is labelled where
it appears.
7. Legal bases and retention (GDPR)
| Purpose | Data | Legal basis | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| Delivering the site, security | IP address (passes through), request data | Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR: interest in a working, secure site | our logs: size-limited (about 30 MB, oldest deleted); Cloudflare: per Cloudflare |
| Overload protection | IP address in working memory | Art. 6(1)(f) | minutes, in working memory only |
| Display setting (globe or map) | local storage on your device | Art. 6(1)(f) | until you delete it |
8. Disclosure abroad
Data passes through Cloudflare's worldwide network, including the USA (section 3).
9. Your rights
You can ask what data we hold about you and have it corrected or deleted (FADP; GDPR Art. 15–21,
including the right to object). Write to contact@vai.gg. You can complain to the Swiss Federal Data
Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, edoeb.admin.ch) or to the supervisory authority in
your EU country.
10. Changes
We update this page when the site changes, and change the version and date above.
